SCUBAnaut GLOBE Home Page
The Global Learning and Observations to Benefit hte Environment (GLOBE) Program is a "worldwide community of youths, teachers, scientists and citizens working together to better understand, sustain and improve Earth's environment at local, regional, and global scales". In May 2009, SNI entered into a partnership with GLOBE. GLOBE fits well with the broad organization goals of SNI by enabling SCUBAnauts to collect environmental observations in a standardized manner that we can share among SNI Chapters nationwide as well as other educational programs and schools worldwide. We have identified several goals for our GLOBE Partnership, which are to utilize GLOBE data to relate with data collected concurrent research projects conducted by SNI Chapters, collaborate with local scientists and teachers on regional projects, and to assist the GLOBE Program with field testing of marine-based protocols.
