Dive Training

All SCUBAnaut divers are American Academy of Underwater Sciences (AAUS) qualified science divers. This means that they meet the strict guidelines of that agency. To meet AAUS qualifications, SNI-SP divers are, at a minimum:

• SCUBA Certified
• CPR and First Aid Certified (Annual)
• Oxygen Provider Certified (Annual)
• Pass a Written Exam
• Pass a Physical Exam
• Pass a Swim Test
• 12 science dives in the last 12 months

Safety is always our number one concern. To ensure this, we require our adult ‘Divers-in-Charge’ to be Divemasters or SCUBA Instructor certified. All adult leaders, including non-dive leadership, undergo Safe Child Training and screening.

As the SCUBAnauts diving experience grows, we offer further training and certifications that have included:

• Advanced Certification
• NITROX Certification
• Specialty Certifications (e.g., Underwater Navigation)
• Master Diver Certification
• Rescue Trained
